Shillman House was awarded to Dellbrook Construction by the Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly in September of 2008 after a competitive and negotiated bid process of two months. The project had been in planning and cost development for several years prior by another Contractor that resulted in an unworkable cost situation for JCHE. Dellbrooks means and methods for cost development and its relentless pursuit to provide a complete proposal (using only available progress plans) resulted in a quick project award.
This is a grounds up project, and when completed provides a state of the art residence for the elderly with all the necessary programs to service the client including a commercial restaurant type kitchen and dining facilities; computer work station room; areas for physical therapy etc. This firm is also providing green construction that includes solar panels for photovoltaic power production; a geo-thermal well system that is used to lower cooling cost; low VOC flooring and paint materials; emitters for plant watering etc. Additionally, Dellbrook is also rebuilding the public street infrastructure necessary to service this large complex.
