Steel Installation Begins at Falmouth YMCA

FALMOUTH  — Construction of the Don and Dottie Smith YMCA continues to move forward, with foundations complete and steel now being installed for the future 73,000 square-foot facility on Brick Kiln Road.

Dellbrook Assistant Superintendent, Jack McGrath, gave a tour of the active construction site, stating that the first vertical elements of the structure are expected to take shape by the end of the week. Once the structure is weather-tight, crews will shift their focus indoors during the colder months.

Once completed, the new YMCA will feature an aquatics center, wellness and fitness spaces, youth programs, and a two-story Community Health Center of Cape Cod offering primary care, pharmacy, and physical therapy services for the Upper Cape.

The project remains on track to open in summer 2027 opening, assuming the remaining $6.2 million is secured by this fall, allowing for continued construction. As of now, the community has raised approximately $36.3 million, leaving $6.2 million left towards their revised goal.
